El próximo 25 de septiembre, se celebrará en Bruselas, Bélgica, el taller LULUCF: Consecuencias prácticas para el sector forestal, organizado por EUSTAFOR, junto con varias organizaciones del sector forestal (EOS, CEPI y CEPF) y con el apoyo de CEI-Bois. El taller está enfocado a mostrar las consecuencias prácticas del Reglamento recientemente adoptado para la inclusión del uso de la tierra , Cambio de Uso del Suelo y Silvicultura (LULUCF) dentro del marco 2030 de la Unión Europea sobre el Clima y Energía.
Se centrará principalmente en el impacto de los nuevos niveles de referencia forestal que establecerán los Estados miembros sobre los niveles de cosecha anuales en los bosques europeos y las posibles implicaciones para el suministro interno de madera en la UE, específicamente en las cadenas de valor descendentes. Los participantes abordarán aspectos relacionados con la orientación de la Comisión sobre la implementación del Reglamento LULUCF y especialmente las reglas para establecer nuevos niveles de referencia forestal.
En este interesante evento, que contará con expertos de Francia, Polonia, Suecia, Suiza, Rumanía, Finlandia y España, el proyecto LIFE FOREST CO2 estará presente en la Sesión 3, donde el coordinador del proyecto LIFE FOREST CO2, Miguel Chamón Fernández, participará a través de la ponencia Multiple benefits of climate action at the local level: The LIFE CO2 project para explicar los beneficios a nivel local que tendrá el proyecto LIFE FOREST CO2.
EUSTAFOR, together with a number of organisations of the forest-based sector (EOS, CEPI and CEPF) and with the support of CEI-Bois, are organising a joint workshop on the practical consequences of the recently adopted Regulation for the inclusion of Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) within the 2030 EU Climate and Energy framework. The event will be held on September 25, 2018 at the Tuscany Region EU Office in Brussels.
Main focus will be on the impact of the new Forest Reference Levels to be set by the Member States on the annual harvest levels in European forests and the potential implications for the domestic wood supply in the EU, specifically on the down-stream value chains. The participants will address aspects linked to the Commission’s guidance on the implementation of the LULUCF Regulation and especially the rules for setting up new Forest Reference Levels.
The distinctiveness and specificity of the LULUCF Regulation will then be explained by speakers from France, Poland, Sweden Switzerland, Romania, Finland and Spain. They will describe their respective national orientations for optimizing the sector’s contribution to climate change mitigation while also ensuring the enhancement of the competitiveness of the forest-based industries. LIFE FOREST CO2 will attend Sesion 3, Potential impacts of the LULUCF regulation on the sector, with the conference Multiple benefits of climate action at the local level: The LIFE CO2 project, imparted by the project coordinator, Miguel Chamón (OISMA).
